Online Community Library

Our Community Library is located on the ground floor of Devonshire House, but we’d also like to share here some ways you can access books and magazines online, provide some recommended reading lists for you, and share some blogs and perspectives from current students. This is also to overcome some of the challenges posed by physical books, where audiobooks and eBooks can accommodate easier reading for many. Happy reading!

External resources for books and audiobooks:

BorrowBox – this is an app you can access for free thanks to Libraries Unlimited. It requires a library card from Exeter City Library, or your local city library, so make sure you have this first. The app includes a wide selection of eBooks, audiobooks and online magazines and newspapers.

Libby – you can get free access via your uni account to books and audiobooks

MyCalibre - this charity offers a huge catalogue of audiobooks, with a huge range of both fiction and non-fiction, which are free to access on their website for under-25s

Project Gutenberg –over 75,000 free eBooks available to access on web browsers or eBook readers, with texts in English, French, Italian, German, and Portuguese. Has mainly classic books and is a good source for course-related texts!
